‘This is New York’s Katrina’ was the headline in the paper. While evacuations, power outages and devastation surrounded us, we were fortunate to be hunkered down on Roosevelt Island. Click on the ‘show photo gallery’ link above to see some photos. The worse flooding and winds came at night, so getting some action shots in the dark was out of the question. While my post-storm images don’t compare to other devastating photos you see on TV, the flooding that did occur on Roosevelt Island had to be more than what the city anticipated. In hindsight, we probably should have been evacuated.
