Exhalation
Ted Chiang, 351 pages
Sci-fi short stories along the lines of an intellectual version of the Twilight Zone. Short stories have never been my jam. I wanted to love these. I only liked them. I found myself impatiently reading, anticipating a “short” story, but not really knowing how short (as they varied from a few pages to like 40). Concepts were definitely interesting and thought-provoking. I don’t think I appreciated them as much as I should (see: impatience). I would be open to reading more from this author, even his other short stories.
