An articulate GP at Andreessen Horowitz tries to explain blockchain technology. I still don’t fully understand it. What killed this book was Dixon’s massive bias for blockchain. He hammers the same point over and over and over again. Corporate networks like Facebook suck because the company holds the power; blockchain networks are the answer because the community holds the power. I understood his POV the first time he shared it. Reiterating this point 500 more times doesn’t make it more convincing. It actually makes it less effective. And while he points to several successful blockchain entities, the book is thin on real-world examples. I went into this book hoping to be convinced of the legitimacy of blockchain; I left more dubious simply because of fanboy Dixon’s approach.
