The Almanack of Naval Ravikant: A Guide to Wealth and Happiness

Eric Jorgenson, 232 pages

Quick, breezy read. A unique format that blends tweets with interview excerpts––all of Naval pontificating. My expectations were high because this one had been on my radar for awhile. Naval is an interesting guy; Eric Jorgenson even more so and I enjoy his podcast. Naval presents his theories and philosophies of life, happiness and wealth, mostly as fact. It can come off as arrogant or actually uninformed. Sorry, you can’t be an expert in everything despite all the reading you boast about doing. I was left wanting more unique insights and less repetition of the insights presented, but that’s a bit of a nitpick. The text mostly delivered and I did walk away with a handful of concepts or themes that made an impact. If you don’t have any prior knowledge of Naval or Tim Ferriss or Eric Jorgenson going into this book, there’s a real possibility you’d be lost or find the content obtuse or rambling.
