When Life Gives You Pears
, pages
Comedian Jim Gaffigan’s wife, busy with a career and full brood of kids, ignored health symptoms and almost lost her life to a pear-shaped tumor in her brain. Big fan of Jim Gaffigan and heard Jeannie on a podcast promoting her book. Was surprised and disappointed because I was expecting her to focus in on deeper meaning and experiences coming so close to death. That’s what it sounded like from the podcast. It more resembled one of Jim’s books with an undercurrent of humor and jokes, just not as funny. The “deep” insights were what you might expect: need to slow down in life, family matters, every obstacle is also an opportunity. Just okay – and I wanted more.
