Ran into this bizarre novel while reading about the annual Tournament of Books. A guy prearranges with a mysterious company for his head to be cut off and frozen upon his death so that he can be reborn in the future. It had an interesting start, disappointing finish. Wasn’t sure where the authors were “headed” (pun intended) with the intriguing premise and apparently they didn’t know either. I was hoping for something meaningful when it came to life, death, love and commitment. But if there was a big message, I missed it. Apparently the beginning of the novel (the best part) was originally an e-book and then the novel was expanded and traditionally published. Just like the novel Wool, the expansion failed to live up to the start.
