How To Win Friends and Influence People
Dale Carnegie, 267 pages
Common sense packaged as some sort of revolutionary wisdom. From the 1930s and felt very dated. Maddeningly repetitive: If you want people to like you, show interest in what they are interested in. Here are 45 examples of that – as if this concept is so difficult to grasp I need more than negative 1 examples to get it. A fair amount of Dale’s wisdom was mostly how to manipulate people. And he made it a point on several occasions to try and justify how this was not manipulation –– which only supports my supposition. Total crap.
