The author is passionate about the ocean and clearly put a lot of effort into the book – that’s where my compliments end. Annoyances: Her righteous attitude. Her obnoxious use of footnotes (almost every page). Her verbosity and “storytelling” which were thinly veiled attempts to show off everything she knows about science, history and the planet. Her editor should be fired. Her rambling last section of the book where she offers nothing new about climate change. Nearly 400 pages; a tighter 150 pages would have better served her audience.
