Had high hopes because I really enjoyed the science fiction novel I read from this author. And this one didn’t disappoint. Creatively and deftly conceived and delivered, Yu tackles Asian racism both seriously and at the same time somewhat lightheartedly. I was pulling for the protagonist from the beginning and felt his struggle as he worked against the odds. Read this while flying to Japan in one long sitting. The pages clipped by quickly, but it wasn’t an insubstantial read. Have now resolved to seek out more titles from this author.
