Giblet & Belle: The Case of the One Still Too Many
Robert Lay, 232 pages
Expect to enter a world of significant anthropomorphizing. So, put reality aside and just enjoy Robert’s fantasy world where dogs and cats solve crimes alongside humans and possess better communication skills than most people I know. The plot is highly mechanical and you can feel Robert checking off mental boxes and he sets out to explain all that needs to be explained. The upside is a story that is purposeful, doesn’t wander and provides concrete resolution while teasing that there’s more to come. The story is punctuated by some light-hearted and funny moments. A lot of work was put into the book, that’s clear. Kudos to Robert.
