Running is my therapy

, pages

A reasonably okay read about one runner’s research on, and thinking about, using running as a treatment for his depression. He shares the scientific evidence that the neurologic effects of running are similar to those incurred by antidepressants. He also discusses his on and off again use of therapeutics to manage his lifelong depression. In sum, running has a lot of positive psychological effects in addition to the obvious health benefits. Some good nuggets in here and definitely told from a runner’s perspective.
