My Year of Running Dangerously: A Dad, a Daughter, and a Ridiculous Plan

Tom Foreman, 271 pages

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I identified with Foreman’s description of the emotional roller coaster of training and long runs – and trying to make sense of why someone would do it. His satirical, trying to be funny voice became a little tired in spots, but overall it was an unpretentious account of trying to accomplish hard things. I don’t know that I would recommend this book to non-runners, but it ranks high on my list probably because it was so runner-specific.
