Sum: Forty Tales from the Afterlives

David Eagleman, 110 pages

Easy, lightning-fast read with 40 micro-chapters, each painting a unique picture of what the afterlife could be like. I appreciated the creativity and intelligence of the author. Felt just a touch repetitive in spots and would have been stronger if it were 30 micro-chapters (to trim some overlap in stories), but that makes for an even shorter page count when it comes to getting this to book-qualifying length. Perfect format to pick up and put down intermittently due to the individual, uniquely crafted 2-to-3 page chapters –– however, I gobbled this up in just a handful of short sessions.
