The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

I think I would have loved this book in high school. It’s like Monty Python does sci-fi. It was worth reading so I can understand when other sources reference it, but I’m not clamoring to read the other books in the collection. It takes awhile to warm up and the ending was unsatisfying – essentially ends with “to be continued”. I also thought the author’s penchant for naming characters really bizarre names wore thin. It’s sort of amusing at first and then becomes tired. Some clever lines and interesting takes. Short and so the overall investment isn’t steep.
