Overdue review. Subtitled Happiness For People Who Can’t Stand Positive Thinking. Entertaining, counter-intuitive approach to the self-help genre, arguing that trying to be happy is the true downer. Instead one should shift expectations about success and failure and learn to embrace the negatives in life. I’d define the author as reasonable, open-minded and intelligent. Smart enough to carefully craft his story so it reads simply more like entertainment and less like a prescribed way of living. Good not great.
